Fast and easy calculation of a single check digit
The check digit calculator is not able to valitate the GS1 key your generated. The calcuator simply calculates the GS1 check digit according to your input.
The calcuation of the check digits is in the responsibility of each member of GS1. GS1 Switzerland may not be held neither liable nor responsible for wrong check digits.
You usually need a GS1 Company Prefixe (GCP), assigned by GS1 Switzerland, for the construction of a valid article number (GTIN - Global Trade Item Number) and other GS1 keys.
After signing the application form for your membership, your GCP will be announced by mail.
You will find your company's GS1 Company Prefixe (GCP) in the confirmation letter (see example on the left). You may search for it as well with the help of our GEPIR network.
A GCP only consists of digits. Letters are not part of a GCP.
Please be aware that not all GCPs allocated by GS1 Switzerland are suitable for building GS1 identifcation keys for trade items (GTIN - Global Trade Item Number) or GS1 identification keys for logistic units (SSCC - Serial Shipping Container Code). Please refer to the confimation letter for details.
Please enter your GS1 Company Prefixe (GCP) in the first field:
