GS1 Switzerland is the only authorized representative from GS1 Global for Switzerland and Liechtenstein, providing information on GS1 Standards and ECR-process-recommendations and is the exclusive organization to assign GS1 identification keys to companies located in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

GS1 Switzerland supports its members in implementing the GS1 Standards and commonly agreed procedures, which includes:

• Global identification system for products, trading units, locations, documents, companies and more.
• Globally unique identification keys with one- or two dimensional barcodes or RFID technology.
• Global set of business messages: from master data exchange, ordering, despatch advice to invoicing.
• Globally defined processes: supply and demand management, supply chain management, tracking and tracing and more.
